The Remote Highways

One of the greatest charms of traveling thousands of kilometers for the lonely roads of the North, is the encounters with the wild inhabitants of these distant lands: Wolves, black bears, pallid partridges, lynx … they jump into the road, and sometimes I have had time enough to stop the car and photograph them.
The James Bay Road is one of the most active in wildlife, but there are photos also from other remote wilderness highways, such as the Trans-Taiga, the Trans-Labrador Highway or the Viking trail of New-Foundland.
